NHL Free Agent Day 1 signings (live updates)

Welcome to the first day of the new hockey year: free agency.

At 12:00 pm (EST), unrestricted free agents without contracts can sign with whoever they want. This year’s free agent class is headlined by Nikolaj Ehlers, Brock Boeser, Vladislav Gavrikov, Mikael Granlund, Jake Allen, Pius Suter, Dmitry Orlov, Brent Burns, Jonathan Drouin, and Jack Roslovic after several big-name players either re-signed (Brad Marchand and Aaron Ekblad) or were signed-and-traded to new teams (Mitch Marner, VGK).
