The Washington Capitals will get Tom Wilson back in their lineup against the Tampa Bay Lightning on Saturday afternoon.

Wilson missed the team’s 5-2 loss to the St. Louis Blues on Thursday due to illness. Head coach Spencer Carbery confirmed the good news in his pregame media availability.

“Yeah, he is good,” Carbery said.

The absence against St. Louis was Wilson’s first of the season after playing in all 58 prior games. The 30-year-old winger was present at practice on Friday morning to get some work in before being put back in the lineup.

Wilson is fifth on the team in scoring with 45 points (26g, 19a) and is on pace for his first 30-goal year.

Logan Thompson will be back in net for the Capitals, making his first-ever start against the Lightning. The 28-year-old netminder took just his third regulation loss of the season against the Calgary Flames on Tuesday night. He is 25-3-5 on the season with a 2.28 goals-against average, a .919 save percentage, and two shutouts.

Tampa Bay is red-hot coming into the game, having won seven in a row and eight of their last 10. The Capitals and Lightning split two games earlier this season in Florida.
