Monumental Sports Network announced on Monday that Craig Laughlin, former Capitals forward and beloved color commentator, will be away from the broadcast booth for the next three games due to a personal matter.

Locker is expected back for the Capitals’ game against the Boston Bruins on December 31. In the meantime, Alan May will take over the color commentating duties next to Joe Beninati.

Monumental viewers will miss Locker for Monday night’s game against the Bruins and the two post-holiday break games against the Toronto Maple Leafs and Detroit Red Wings on Saturday and Sunday. All three games are on the road.

Locker has been providing TV analysis for Capitals games since 1990 after retiring from pro hockey, first forming a permanent duo with Beninati in 1996.

RMNB wishes Craig and the rest of the Laughlin family all the best during this time.

RMNB is not associated with the Washington Capitals; Monumental Sports, the NHLPA, the NHL, or its properties. Not even a little bit.
