The Washington Capitals, winners of four in a row, are back 25.5 hours later for another game against the Philadelphia Flyers.
After throttling Torts’ young team 4-1 in the City of Brotherly Love, the Capitals will look to win both games of their early-season home-and-home with a victory at Capital One Arena.
The Capitals’ only change will be Logan Thompson returning to the net for his third start of the year.

Morgan Frost picks off a lazy point pass and appeared to score the Flyers’ third goal on a breakaway, but Thompson made the stop and kept the puck under his pads somehow. Frost was celebrating afterward.
At intermission: More liveliness that period. The Flyers are outshooting the Capitals 19 to 15 after outshooting the Caps 16 to 9 in the period. The Flyers are leading in 5v5 attempts too, 31 to 27.
3rd Period

Tom Wilson draws a penalty 25 seconds in. Second power play for the Caps.
Ryan Poehling had to crawl off the ice after blocking a nearly 94 MPH by John Carlson on the PP.
