Ivan Miroshnichenko continued his hot start for the Hershey Bears, scoring his fifth goal of the season during Sunday’s game against the Chicago Wolves.

Miro found pay dirt on the power play late in the first period, sending a low shot from the bumper spot past Wolves goaltender Yanik Perets.

Usually set up in the Ovi Spot (the left faceoff circle) during Hershey power plays, Miroshnichenko rotated to the middle of the ice where he fired an Alex Limoges pass quickly into the net.

Miro flashed a big smile in the goal hug after scoring. Then, as he approached the bench, he did his best non-threatening ROAR celly.

Tremendous form and expression here.

Later in the 5-0 win, Miroshnichenko had the primary assist on Brad Hunt’s second-period goal, giving him his second multi-point game of the season.

The Capitals’ 2022 first-round pick later added a third point, assisting on Bogdan Trineyev’s third goal of the season — an unselfish dish near the net.

Miroshnichenko now has 5 goals in 5 games after scoring 9 total in 47 games during his rookie AHL season. The 20-year-old Russian is now in a three-way tie for third in the AHL in goals (5). He is also tied with Ethen Frank for the team lead in goals (5) and points (7). Frank had two goals and an assist in the game.

The Caps prospect previously registered his milestone first-career AHL hat trick in Hershey’s second game of the year.
