ARLINGTON, VA — The Washington Capitals welcomed more players to their informal skates as training camp looms just around the corner. Tom Wilson, Ethan Bear, and Charlie Lindgren have all hit the ice this week, rejoining the team at MedStar Capitals Iceplex.
Other recent arrivals include Hendrix Lapierre, Dylan McIlrath, Mike Sgarbossa, and Ivan Miroshnichenko, who represented the Capitals at the NHLPA Rookie Showcase last week.

Wilson rejoined the team on Monday after traveling back from Toronto. The new dad spent his offseason training with Paragenix Systems after he and his wife Taylor welcomed their first child, Teddy, in May. He will see a significant pay raise this season as he plays the first year of the seven-year, $45.5 million contract extension he signed last summer.

Bear will be entering a competitive training camp where the Capitals are much deeper on D after signing two regular defensemen in Jakob Chychrun and Matt Roy. Bear will likely compete with Alex Alexeyev for one of the final depth spots on the roster.
The rearguard’s return to DC this week comes after after spending time away from the team to receive treatment from the NHL/NHLPA Player Assistance Program this spring, with then-general manager Brian MacLellan telling reporters in June that Bear should be set to return for training camp.
Like the Wilsons, the Bears grew their family this summer, with Ethan and his wife Lenasia celebrating the birth of their second daughter, Bella Faye, in July.

After becoming Washington’s starting goaltender thanks to a spectacular 2023-24 season, Lindgren will look to repeat that performance in 2024-25. Lindgren’s starting role further solidified when the Caps traded Darcy Kuemper to the LA Kings, later acquiring Logan Thompson from the LA Kings to serve as Lindgren’s goaltending partner.

Lindgren attended the Laughlin Family Foundation celebrity golf tournament on Monday at Crofton Country Club.

The Capitals have now seen nearly full participation in the team’s informal skates, with only TJ Oshie, Rasmus Sandin, and Trevor van Riemsdyk yet to hit the ice in recent days.
The Capitals will hold their annual rookie camp from September 13-16 before starting on-ice activities at training camp on September 19.
