Logan Day has won back-to-back Calder Cups with the Hershey Bears as one of the team’s top contributors from the backend. Now, he’s back for a run at a threepeat after inking a one-year AHL deal with the club on Wednesday.
Day joins Garrett Roe, Riley Sutter, Hardy Häman Aktell, Alex Limoges, Matt Strome, and Nicky Leivermann as some of the main faces from the 2024 championship team to sign new contracts with the Bears this summer.

The 29-year-old defender appeared in 54 games for the Bears during the 2023-24 campaign, tallying 25 points (6g, 19a), the second most among the club’s defensemen. He then skated in 15 playoff games, amassing seven points (2g, 5a), good for third-most among the team’s rearguards.
His biggest playoff point in this most recent run was likely his assist on Roe’s overtime goal that sent Hershey to the 2024 Cup Finals.
“I threw an absolute muffin and luckily it bounced right onto his stick,” Day said then. “I mean, that guy is 87 years old so he’s played a couple hockey games and right place, right time for him and he buried it.”
Day has played in 307 career AHL games with Bakersfield, Lehigh Valley, and Hershey, racking up 122 points (28g, 94a).
Hershey now has 12 defensemen with AHL contracts for next season. Day is the latest to join the group after the Bears brought in Brad Hunt, an All-Star blueliner, last week.
