The Washington Capitals selected Petr Sikora with their sixth-round draft pick in the 2024 NHL Draft (178th overall).

Sikora is a Czech centerman from HC Oceláři Třinec in the Czech Extraliga. The 18-year-old forward split his draft year with the team’s senior club and their U20 junior team.

In 22 games playing against men, Sikora recorded three points (1g, 2a). Many of his teammates are former Capitals, including Jakub Jerabek, Richard Panik, and Tomas Kundratek.

Sikora lit up the U20 league, recording 40 points (13g, 27a) in 30 games. He added seven points (5g, 2a) in four playoff games.

The six-foot, 174-pound pivot also earned a silver medal with Czechia at the 2023 Hlinka Gretzky Cup. He had three points (1g, 2a) in five games at the tournament.

He has no relation to former Capitals forward Petr Sykora nor the other NHL Petr Sykora who won a Stanley Cup with the New Jersey Devils and Pittsburgh Penguins.
