The New York Rangers are turning to their leader to rally the Madison Square Garden crowd for Game Two.

The Rangers are giving out Peter Laviolette inspirational quote towels to every fan in attendance for the Washington Capitals-New York Rangers game.

The Laviolette quote towel reads, “It’s a sea of blue out there. These fans have been here for generations.”

Deeply moving.

Laviolette, whose most memorable wordplays in Washington included variations of we’re going to keep that inside the room and creative uses of the word juice, led the Rangers to a Presidents’ Trophy in 2023-24 during his first year as head coach. The Franklin, Mass. native also suited up in 12 games for the Rangers as a defenseman during the 1988-89 season.

The Rangers defeated the Capitals 4-1 in Game One. They’ll be looking to take a commanding series lead in Game Two.

RMNB is not associated with the Washington Capitals; Monumental Sports, the NHLPA, the NHL, or its properties. Not even a little bit.
