Ethen Frank was injured in the Hershey Bears’ 3-1 win over the Providence Bruins, Friday. The game marked Hershey’s first game back from the All-Star break.

The Bears’ second-leading goal-scorer was injured midway through the first period as he tied up Bruins forward Justin Brazeau driving hard to the net. Frank’s balance was upset and his right leg collided into the goal frame. Here’s the video via @HBHNationBlog on Twitter.

The first-line right wing was slow to get up. Once he did, he did not put any weight on his right leg as he skated off to the bench.

Frank was initially not ruled out from returning, but when he tested out his leg before the start of the second period, he returned to the locker room.

Shortly after, the Bears officially announced that he was out with a lower-body injury and would not return.

According to a Bears spokesman, Frank will be reevaluated on Saturday before the team’s game against the Springfield Thunderbirds. If Ethen’s unable to go, Bogan Trineyev can take his spot in the lineup after serving a one-game suspension.

Frank is coming off his second straight All-Star appearance earlier in the week where he won the Fastest Skater event with a blazing speed of 13.032 seconds.
