While many Washington Capitals players jet-setted around the world during the team’s nine-day break, one star player opted to stay home.
TJ Oshie, who has four children and recently returned from injury, remained in the area. But he still made sure to take some time for himself on Wednesday.
Oshie, along with his family, attended the Washington Wizards’ 125-109 loss to the Los Angeles Clippers at Capital One Arena. Not only was Oshie there, but so was his friend, Washington Nationals’ great, Ryan Zimmerman. Both players were honored during the game on the jumbotron.
Oshie was introduced to the crowd while sitting with his two daughters Lyla and Leni.

Zimmerman got the same treatment with his daughters as well.

“Thanks for having us out, @washwizards!” Zimmerman wrote on Instagram.
The night marks the first time the Oshies and Zimmermans have hung out together, at least as far as we know, since they went to a Morgan Wallen concert in early September.
TJ made sure to dress appropriately for the show, rocking cowboy boots and a cutoff shirt.
Zimmerman is no stranger to the ice. He once suited up as a goaltender during a Capitals practice in 2020.
“I hope I don’t die,” he remarked before taking the ice.
