Stopping 14 shots in Colorado’s 3-0 win on Wednesday night, Avs goalie Philipp Grubauer has recorded the first shutout of the 2020 playoffs.
(The asterisk is because it was against the Coyotes.)
Via Natural Stat Trick, Grubauer was not especially challenged. The Coyotes generated three high-danger chances.
This is not Grubauer’s first postseason shutout. He stopped 32 Sharks shots in a 2019 game.
Grubauer was traded to Colorado following Washington’s 2018 Stanley Cup victory.
At the other end of the rink, Arizona goalie Darcy Kuemper allowed three goals on 40 shots. All three goals cam within 83 seconds of each other.
