TJ Oshie has been away from his family for nearly two weeks now and Friday, it appears that separation finally hit the father of three.
“Miss these four more and more every day,” Oshie wrote sweetly on Instagram. “Can’t wait to for the next time I get to wake up next to @lauren.oshie, have chats about any and everything with Lyla, squeeze my little Len, and take naps with Campbell. Love you, guys!”
The Washington Capitals left for the Toronto bubble on July 26 and could be there until early October if the team makes a run to the Stanley Cup Final. While players have luxury amenities in Hotel X, TJ brought his console to the Secure Zone and enjoyed his initial video game time with the boys — to the ire of wife Lauren. Before he left for Canada, Oshie stated that the Capitals “are a Mario Kart team” and was looking forward to the team bonding.
But it’s clear that TJ, who became a father of his first boy, Campbell, in March, misses his kids. It’s a reminder that as players chase their Stanley Cup dreams and entertain us fans at home, there is a very real sacrifice they’re making to do so.
