The Vegas Golden Knights defeated the Dallas Stars on Monday night on the strength of a couple goals from fellas you might remember.
Chandler Stephenson scored the game’s first goal just 64 seconds in. On the rush, William Karlsson entered the zone and found Stephenson in the slot. Beating Ben Bishop, Stephenson turned the Knights’ first shot of the game into a goal.
The Knights allowed three goals from the Stars all in the second period, but they began their comeback in the third off the stick of Mark Stone. Just a couple minutes later, Nate Schmidt tied the game by snatching a rebound on Reilly Smith’s shot.
A few minutes later, Schmidt assisted on William Carrier’s game-winning goal, which required a coach’s challenge to survive a goalie interference call. William Karlsson added an empty-netter and that was that: the Knights downed the Stars 5-3.
Before the game began, Ryan Reaves and three others kneeled for the national anthems to draw attention to police brutality.
