NHL announces date change for Capitals-Bruins round robin game

The NHL announced Monday that the Capitals-Bruins game (which you may not have known was on August 8) will now be played on Sunday, August 9.

The Capitals full schedule for the round robin now is:

  • August 3 vs the Tampa Bay Lightning at 4 PM
  • August 6 vs the Philadelphia Flyers TBD
  • August 9 vs the Boston Bruins TBD

In nine days, the Capitals will also play an exhibition game against the Carolina Hurricanes on Wednesday, July 29 at 4 PM.

NEW YORK (July 20, 2020) – The National Hockey League today announced a schedule change for two games in the Eastern Conference Round Robin of the 2020 Stanley Cup Qualifiers:

The Boston Bruins-Washington Capitals game, originally scheduled for Saturday, Aug. 8, now will be played Sunday, Aug. 9.

The Philadelphia Flyers-Tampa Bay Lightning game, originally scheduled for Sunday, Aug. 9, now will be played Saturday, Aug. 8.

The start times for both games remain TBD.
