The Washington Capitals returned to the ice for the first time in four months on Monday for its first day of Phase 3 Training Camp. But I was immediately confronted with an existential crisis. Are the Capitals really back if Ovi’s not back in his office?
Tuesday, everything felt right again as Ovi ambled back into the left circle and slapped one-timers into the back of the net.

The vids were shot by the Washington Post’s Samantha Pell and the NHL.com’s Tom Gulitti, who were a handful of media allowed at practice, sitting on the balcony of MedStar Capitals Iceplex.
And now, here’s a bonus Ovi Office video from January featuring special guest star Nicklas Backstrom.
