The Washington Capitals’ 2018 Stanley Cup team is getting more love in a national crossword puzzle a month after Lars Eller got some dap in the Wall Street Journal.
CAPS was the answer for 5 across to the New York Times’ question 2018 Stanley Cup champs, to fans.
The timing was apropos as the NHL held its first official event on Friday, the 2020 Draft Lottery, since the 2019-20 season was suspended due to the coronavirus pandemic on March 12.

In terms of trivia, Alex Ovechkin has also been honored since winning the Stanley Cup. The Russian machine was featured in a Jeopardy! question in June 2019.
