NHL commissioner Gary Bettman will be making a formal announcement on the NHL’s Return to Play Plan for the 2019-20 season at 4:30 PM, Tuesday.
Bettman’s statement will be aired live on NBCSN and NHL Network in the United States and Sportsnet and TVA Sports in Canada. Fans can also watch on the NHL’s social platforms on Twitter, Facebook, and YouTube.
According to The Athletic’s Pierre LeBrun, Bettman will announce the 24-team playoff format agreement the NHL/NHLPA has signed off on.

Before the telecast, Bettman will share details of the plan with NHL GMs at 3 PM.

Commissioner Bettman and Deputy Commissioner Bill Daly will also host a media availability on Zoom at 6 PM.
The NHLPA officially approved the 24-playoff plan on Friday, allowing further negotiations with the league to return this season. The NHL’s Board of Governors also recently approved the return to play format.
On Monday, the NHL released their Phase 2 protocol which would allow teams to start small group workouts again.
