Alex Ovechkin took on Wayne Gretzky in NHL20 last night to raise money for coronavirus charities. After squeaking out a narrow 2-1 win during an off-camera friendly on Monday, Ovi was very stressed heading into this game as losing to a 59-year-old who barely plays video games would not be the greatest look.
Completely oblivious to this simmering anxiety was Ovi’s one-year-old son Sergei, who sat in dad’s lap as the game started.
Noticing he was on the projection screen on the wall, Sergei began showing off the puck he was holding for everyone to see.

The Ovechkins recently starred in a Johnson’s Baby commercial and in a press release announcing the endorsement deal, Ovechkin revealed that Sergei has become inseparable from his hockey gear.
“I try to spend free time with Sergei, we play a lot, I bathe him, together with Nastya we give him a massage, put him to bed. And he loves falling asleep with a [hockey stick].”
Later during the game, Sergei watched dad play in the background as mom, Nastya, filmed with her phone.
Meanwhile, 3,000 miles away in Thousand Oaks, California, Gretzky played along with his son Ty who was very good at the game.
