Without ice hockey, Michal Kempny turns to rollerblades

Michal Kempny was one of nine Capitals players to leave North America and return home. Back in the Czech Republic, Kempny has hiked and explored outdoors with girlfriend Nicola to stay active. He’s also gotten an arm workout, shaving off all his hair.

But now, without ice hockey for at least another 16 days, Kempny has turned to rollerblades to get his skating fill during the coronavirus pandemic.

“Thanks for the new wheels @bauerhockeyczech,” Kempny wrote on Instagram.

The rollerblades appear to be a $400 pair of BAUER RH VAPOR X2.9 Skate Senior rollerblades.

Fellow Czech teammate, Jakub Vrana, left a comment on Kempny’s post.

“That scares me, please wear your helmet 😂” Vrana said.

Kempny responded, “Me too 😂.”
