To help raise more money for the hungry in DC (donate here), Brandi Holtby took to Twitter on Monday to show off the family’s two pets. The Holtbys have a pair of tortoises.
Their names are Honey and Maple Holtby.
We haven’t quite hit our goal of 25k meals for @foodbankmetrodc. BUT, I wanted to official introduce all of you to Maple Holtby, or as we like to call him, Mr. Mape. 🐢💚 pic.twitter.com/3X2wt5biKt

In her first tweet, Brandi showed off Maple or “Mr. Mape”. Maple has a black and yellow patterned shell and appears very active.
Meanwhile, big brother Honey has a sweet tooth for playing in goal, just like dad.

We first learned of the Holtbys had a tortoise in October 2018. Brandi revealed the first name of their tortoises, Honey, in April 2019, but had kept Maple’s name a secret for a whole year.
But what’s his little brother’s name? @russianmachine pic.twitter.com/rwmoK7cXW2

I would have never guessed Braden would have a tortoise — he seems more like a cat person (this is a bad cat-like reflexes joke) — but it continues to speak to how original and one-of-a-kind he and his family are. And I mean that in the best way possible.
