The NHL held more videoconferences with reporters on Friday and the one featuring Pacific Division players Ryan Getzlaf, Anze Kopitar, Logan Couture, and Marc-Andre Fleury, got wild. Literally.
“I’m here with my wife, four kids, two dogs, and soon to be chickens,” Getzlaf said.
After being asked what he’s been up to while being quarantined, Getzlaf took his laptop, walked out the door, and showed off a chicken coop he built.
Look at all those chickens… well they'll be there soon. 😂
What has Ryan Getzlaf been up to lately? Just casually building a chicken coup. 🐔 pic.twitter.com/eZ6Skl7tan

Can’t say I was expecting that.
“I’ve spent the last three days building a chicken coop in the backyard,” Getzlaf said. “The wife wanted eggs the other day and we had no eggs, so we borrowed from the neighbor who had chickens. And all of a sudden, we were having them. She just ordered six of them.”
"So, how you guys doing?"
Crosby: "Just trying to make the best of it."
Ovechkin: "Getting boring right now."
Subban: "Just been training."Getzlaf: "bUiLdInG a cHiCkEn CoOp" pic.twitter.com/Za6lB0kiOx

Later in the teleconference, Getzlaf’s eyes got big as he watched something happening outside his house.
Seeing his son drive a golf cart into a tree probably wasn't what Ryan Getzlaf was expecting to see today. 😂⛳ pic.twitter.com/X63u54AzHK

“Oh boy, I just saw my nine-year-old drive a golf cart into a tree,” Getzlaf said. “That’s not ideal at the moment. He’ll be fine, right?”
“What’s the worse that can happen?” Kopitar said laughing.
Eventually, Getalaf turned serious.
“We’re not going to complain about pausing our season when there are people dying and life is going on as it is,” Getzlaf said. “We’ve had lockouts before. It’s just another thing in our life we have to deal with professionally. But the biggest worry for us is keeping our families safe.”
Hopefully, Getzlaf takes the golf cart keys away from his son to do just that.
