Tom Wilson and Halle say hello to Caps fans: ‘I know you guys miss hockey right now. So do we.’

Monday afternoon, Tom Wilson became the first Washington Capitals player to comment since the NHL season was paused due to the coronavirus pandemic last Thursday. Using his phone, Wilson recorded a 30-second message for fans.

Wilson brought a special guest over for the video: his new puppy Halle.

“Hey, guys, it’s Tom Wilson here and Halle,” he said. “Just wanted to send a quick video to wish you guys well. We’re thinking of you. I know you guys miss hockey right now. So do we. It’s just a tough time and it’s important to stay healthy and stay safe and take care of your loved ones. Hopefully, we’ll be back sooner rather than later. All the best. See you guys around.”

Halle tried to lick Tom’s face nearly the entire time.

Other NHL players who have recorded messages for fans include PK Subban, Marc-Andre Fleury, Vladimir Tarasenko, Oliver Ekman-Larsson, Dylan Larkin, Zdeno Chara, Alec Martinez, and Christian Fischer.
