Tom Wilson is one of the most divisive players in the National Hockey League for many reasons, but one thing that everyone–be they Capitals fans, hockey fans, or merely art appreciators–can agree on is that he’s handsome.
On Saturday, the New Jersey Devils hit Tom in his very fine face almost as many times as their pucks hit the Capitals net.
Sunday against the Penguins, some (as of yet unidentified) incident caused Wilson to bleed so much on the front of his jersey they made him go to the locker room to get a clean one.
The first infraction in the Devils game came two and a half minutes into the first period, when Connor Carrick–a former Capital and teammate of Wilson’s from juniors–hit Wilson up high. Wilson slowly went to the bench, and eventually, the locker room for repairs; Carrick went to the box for roughing.

Alex Ovechkin had a LOT of words for the referee.
Ovi and the ref held a parent/teacher conference regarding the policies surrounding violent offenses and how the repercussions for said actions–for instance, punching Tom Wilson in the face–may not be adequate deterrents.
also, imagine ovi in a pta meeting; it's v. soothing. pic.twitter.com/iErfD8XwbO

The next attempted-face-take-off came in the third, penalty-packed period, when Tom took a high stick from Travis Zajac.

Tom Wilson was similarly displeased, as he had blood on his jersey by the end of that game.

In Sunday’s game against the Penguins, Wilson bled on his jersey AGAIN–this time, so much so that they made him change before he could rejoin the team on the ice.
at the rate that tom wilson is taking sticks to the face, the washington capitals may need to buy tide sticks in bulk pic.twitter.com/YisCe8i2P1
