Alex Ovechkin takes photo with local firefighters after neighbor’s false alarm

Hours before scoring his 699th career goal, Alex Ovechkin posed for a photo with local firefighters from the Wolf Trap Fire Station.

A grey-haired Ovechkin, wearing a khaki-colored Nike hoodie, smiled with four local heroes after they responded to a neighbor’s false alarm.

“This really GR8 neighbor checked in with E442, Wolftrap, to make sure all was well,” wrote the Fairfax Fire and Rescue Twitter account.

The chance meetup makes sense as Ovechkin’s interest and experience with fire is well documented.
