Jay Beagle is not afraid to take a big hit to make a play – even if it means getting hit in the face for a high five.
The former Capital had the unfortunate luck of getting high-sticked while walking out for for the Canucks-Blackhawks game Wednesday night.
Dan Murphy of Sportsnet has the video.
When you’re so close to the action you can hear Jay Beagle take a stick in the face. #canucks pic.twitter.com/sZ9Ok6fIIZ

That is a sickening sounding thud. Yikes.
But you know how this story ends.
Beagle didn’t miss a shift and received 12:31 of ice time in the Canucks’ 3-0 win. Beagle had two hits and won 54 percent of his faceoffs.
What a gamer.
