Halfway into the game, Kuznetsov skated along the boards with Leo Komarov in pursuit. Komarov smushed Kuznetsov shoulder first into the boards, leaving the Caps forward reeling on the ice.

Kuznetsov left the ice in pain and immediately retreated to the dressing room. He has a history of shoulder injuries while playing in the KHL.
