Richard Panik throws puck off back skate to stick in mind-blowing move

Through two periods of play, the third line of Carl Hagelin, Lars Eller, and Richard Panik were the Capitals’ best line of the night. All three forwards had a shot-attempt percentage of over 60 percent against the Flyers.

Late in the second period, Panik almost scored his eighth goal of the season with a brilliant individual move in front of the net.

Panik intercepted a pass, threw the puck off his back skate off his backhand, kicked the puck through his legs and onto his forehand, and then put a shot on net. Flyers goaltender Brian Elliott made the save. Panik got the rebound, but could not send the puck home.

Panik drew a hooking penalty on the play but took one himself after he came out of the box.
