TJ Oshie is on his way to St. Louis as an All-Star, but it’s far from his first visit to the city. The 33-year-old winger was drafted in the first round by the Blues in 2005, and played his first NHL game in the 2008-09 season. 443 games later, he was traded to the Washington Capitals and started the 2015-16 season in a red jersey.
Oshie was a fan favorite in St. Louis, and still is; his jersey is one of the most common ones worn in the Enterprise Center. Over seven seasons, he had plenty of ways he endeared himself to St. Louisans–like his 110 goals and 200 assists–but instead of spending more time looking at his stats, let’s look at some lesser-known off-ice hilarity.
This Magical Moment Goal
TJ Oshie scored and fooled everyone on the ice and in the seats.
He had to show the referee where the puck had gotten stuck inside the net before he could celly.
NHL Cribs
Oshie gave a Cribs-style apartment tour for a college friend’s YouTube show and it’s everything you want from a rookie’s apartment tour. (Although his refrigerator was stocked with salad fixings and not just ketchup).
P.S. Teej said his favorite song is “Wonderwall” and hopefully some of his teammates will see this and tease him about it mercifully.
did y'all know rookie osh-babe had a DISPLAY CABINET FOR HIS COLLECTION OF CAPS?
& also he had a lamp wearing a blond wig which they do NOT explain in the interview so someone please ask him asap, i need to know. https://t.co/0XTY3CBc24 pic.twitter.com/rkz2ZH2Sce

Old Friends
Remember how Lars Eller and TJ Oshie were Blues at the same time? No? Me neither.
The quality of the video’s not great, but that’s probably a good thing. It’s just too weird.
Campaign for NHL 15 cover
While the cover ultimately went to the Bruins’ Patrice Bergeron, the Blues put together quite a campaign, showcasing Osh-babe’s multi-sport prowess.
First: basketball.
Second: football.
While the actual videos are hilarious, the bloopers are even better.
Interviews Gone Right
All interviews are improved by being smacked by the microphone repeatedly while answering questions, as demonstrated by Oshie’s teammate Patrik Berglund.
The transition to the Capitals, and replacing his favorite Swedish teammate from Berglund for Backstrom, couldn’t have been easy.
😂
do you think oshie had culture shock when he got to the caps & met backstrom & was like, "ah, another swede, can't wait for the lighthearted goofy on-camera tomfoolery to begin!!!!" pic.twitter.com/05RXJWIPc8

Oshie still kept in touch with Berglund, who was his roommate his rookie year. When Berglund returned to Sweden for mental health reasons, Oshie was still in contact with him and supported him however he could.
Fashion “Choices”
While giving a more official, Blues-sponsored tour of his next apartment of his own, Oshie showed off his favorite shirt.

Yup.
That’s it for now, folks–but who knows what the All-Star weekend will bring?
