Evgeny Kuznetsov has four goals in his last three games after connecting on a second period powerplay.
Kuzy redirected a perfect pass from John Carlson to the back of the net to give the Caps a 2-0 lead.
The puck movement here was about as beautiful as you can get. After Nicklas Backstrom sent a beautiful feed to the point on his backhand, Carlson skated into the high slot and sent a perfect slap pass to Kuznetsov hanging out just outside the crease.

Kuzy just… tapped it in.
Two Canes defenders cheated over to the office thinking Carlson would send the puck to Ovechkin for a one-timer. Instead, he found Kuzy wide open in front.
According to the Capitals PR, Kuznetsov is now on pace for 31 goals, which would be a career-high over the 27 he scored during the 2017-18 season.
The assist marked Carlson’s 38th apple of the season and his 15th primary assist, which ranks him 25th in the NHL.
With an assist on Kuznetsov's goal, Carlson is now tied for fourth in all of the NHL with 38 assists and leads all defensemen.

Later in the game, Kuznetsov authored a brilliant primary assist to Jakub Vrana.
