The Washington Capitals rang in the new year in style. Alex Ovechkin and Nastya Ovechkina hosted a New Year’s Eve party for the Caps Russians, including Evgeny Kuznetsov, Dmitry Orlov, and Ilya Samsonov, as well as their own personal friends.
“happy new year from the Ovechkin family,in 2020!health,love,best of luck!🎉🎊🎈” Ovechkin wrote on Instagram.
Ovi and Nastya took a photo in front of their New Year tree while holding Sergei, who was dressed as Santa Claus. In a second photo, Sergei flashes a smile and holds up two New Year’s balloons while riding a tiny baby truck.
After the clock struck midnight, Ovi and Nastya posted a video wishing their followers “happiness, health, love, and good fortune.”

The Caps’ Russians had dinner together and shared stories while their wives celebrated with sparklers.
Ilya Samsonov posted this posed photo with all of the Caps’ Russians and their wives together.
Dmitry Orlov took to Instagram and shared this message in Russian.
Happy new year everybody! We want to wish you health and happiness in the new year!!!” Orlov wrote as translated by Igor Kleyner. “Live, dream, believe in yourselves and your family!!!”
Varvara Orlova also posted this photo of the couple’s first child, Kirill, dressed up as Santa Claus with the message “Happy New Year 2020” and “Thanks 2019 <3".
