Blown out in Boston: numbers for the morning after

The Washington Capitals got blown out of the building in Boston by a score of 7-3.

The Caps out-shot the Bruins 42 to 17 and out-attempted them at five-on-five 40 to 17.

  • Christmas Eve so this will be a short one. Goaltending was the decider here. 7 goals on 17 shots? Boys, cant have that. Tuuka Rask on the other hand was brilliant.
  • Alex Ovechkin scored the 681st goal of his career and it was his 347th road goal, passing Marcel Dionne for the sixth most goals of that variety in history.
  • Lars Eller banged home his eighth of the season, giving him points in three straight games. It’d be nice if his two wingers could find some scoring.
