RMNB’s Cara Bahniuk previously gave us a sneak peek from the photoshoot, but now it’s completed! So, the most important question of the hour, where can you buy the calendar? You can grab yours at team stores at Capital One Arena and MedStar Capitals Iceplex and online at WashCaps.com/CanineCalendar. Here is your reminder that there are a limited amount of calendar and they will go QUICK! Snag yours ASAP or you’ll be left… 😎… howling!
ARLINGTON, Va. – The 2020 Capitals Canine Calendar is now available for purchase, with proceeds benefitting Homeward Trails Animal Rescue.
A limited number of 2020 Caps Canine Calendars are available for $20 each at the team stores at Capital One Arena and MedStar Capitals Iceplex and online at WashCaps.com/CanineCalendar. All calendars include special offers from Olde Towne Pet Resort, an official pawtner of the Capitals Canines club.
The calendar features photos of Nicklas Backstrom, Lars Eller, Radko Gudas, Carl Hagelin, Nick Jensen, Michal Kempny, Evgeny Kuznetsov, Brendan Leipsic, Tyler Lewington, Dmitry Orlov, Richard Panik, Ilya Samsonov, Jonas Siegenthaler, Jakub Vrana and Tom Wilson with dogs available for adoption through Homeward Trails; John Carlson, Nic Dowd, Garnet Hathaway, Nick Jensen, T.J. Oshie, Alex Ovechkin and Chandler Stephenson with their dogs; and Braden Holtby with Captain, the official dog of the Washington Capitals.
Photography services were donated by Virgil Ocampo Photography. Paige Dowd and Tasha Maltman (Stephenson) served as art directors for the calendar.
Proceeds from the sale of the calendars will benefit Homeward Trails Animal Rescue. Homeward Trails is a nonprofit 501(c)(3) organization that provides pet adoption in Virginia, Washington, D.C., and Maryland. Homeward Trails seeks to find permanent adoptive homes in the Mid-Atlantic region for dogs and cats from high-kill shelters or whose owners can no longer care for them. They seek to reduce the rate of euthanasia of adoptable animals through the rescue and placement of homeless animals; to support proactive spay/neuter practices; to promote positive and ongoing behavioral training; and to educate the public about how to care for their animals in a humane way. Homeward Trails not only facilitates adoptions from local shelters, but also supports a large network of foster care providers who take homeless dogs and cats into their homes, care for them, rehabilitate them when needed, and prepare them for their permanent adoptive homes. For more information on Homeward Trails, visit http://www.homewardtrails.org/.
The Capitals have raised nearly $430,000 for Homeward Trails through sales of the Canine Calendar since 2014.
