Radko Gudas will make his grand return to Philadelphia on Wednesday and play the Flyers for the first time since being traded in June for Matt Niskanen.
Despite playing four years in Philadelphia, the Czech defenseman does not expect to be warmly received.
I’m “pretty sure I’m going to get booed the first time I lay a lock on one of their top guys,” Gudas said to NHL.com’s Tom Gulitti.
Mentioned to Radko Gudas that Wayne Simmonds said he hoped the Philadelphia crowd would boo him in his return. Gudas said he's "pretty sure I'm going to get booed the first time I lay a lick on one of their top guys."

Flyers star Sean Couturier said he’d be most definitely keeping his head up during the game.

So far in Washington, Gudas has been a fantastic addition to the team. He was recently promoted to skate with Dmitry Orlov on the second pairing. He also has become one of the Capitals’ top penalty killers. Gudas has the second most time on the penalty kill (54:58 TOI). The Capitals’ penalty kill is the sixth-best in the league (85.5 percent). The Caps are also currently the top team in the NHL.
So not only does Gudas hope he leaves Philly with a win during his homecoming game, he hopes he inspires Flyers fans. To get angry.
“I hope they are going to boo their own power play. That's the goal for me right now,” Gudas said.
Gudas, who has been good on Capitals PK, also said of Flyers crowd:
