We have found the must-have holiday gift of the season. Sorry, Capitals fanny pack; It’s not you. Put your shopping lists away, because there is only one thing worth having under the tree this Christmas and it is the Nicklas Backstrom elf bobblehead.
The Capitals unveiled the bobblehead last week, where it is included in a special two-game holiday pack. Purchasers will receive two tickets to two games, two Caps t-shirts, and one festive Backstrom bobblehead.

To call it a bobblehead is misleading because this incredibly lifelike representation of Nicklas Backstrom bobbles at the waist. You can practically hear the bells jingling. If you can’t, just unmute the gif below.
The elf costume was inspired by a 2017 video shoot where Backstrom was dressed as an elf in the Capitals countdown to Christmas. The costume is meticulously recreated, save for a tiny Weagle that has been added to the bobble-version of Backstrom.

The Backstrom elf bobblehead is sure to be wildly popular, just like it’s 2013 predecessor, the Backstrom garden gnome.
You can purchase the holiday pack through the Caps website. Order before December 12 to ensure this elf makes it into your stocking in time. Season ticket-holders will reportedly be able to purchase the bobblehead separately.
