Twenty-three-year-old infant child Jakub Vrana has just recorded the first Nats Hat Trick of his career.
Vrana scored every Caps goal through the first two periods of Sunday’s game against the Calgary Flames. A stunning breakaway completed the trick and spurred a downpour of hats in Capital One Arena, including a whole bunch of Washington Nationals hats for some reason.

Goal 1
Vrana’s first goal came on a two-on-one break with Evgeny Kuznetsov. Kuzy got to a loose puck first and sauced to V on his backhand. Vrana beat Cam Talbot for his first of the night. He jumped face-first into the glass to celebrate.
Goal 2
Vrana’s second goal of the night came four minutes and seven seconds later after Travis Hamonic swiped a loose puck right on to Vrana’s stick. The Czech forward beat Talbot short side for number two.
Goal 3
Vrana’s hat trick goal came in the second period after being sprung on a breakaway by Evgeny Kuznetsov. Vrana needed two shots, but beat Talbot for his first career hatty.
His celly was to throw a fake hat off his head. I’m in love.

Vrana has had five two-goal games prior to Sunday, including Friday’s game against the Buffalo Sabres.
Vrana’s goal total now hits nine. His career-high was 24 goals last season. He’s well on his way to surpassing that.
Evgeny Kuznetsov had two primary assists on the goals.
