Capitals broadcast crew recreate ‘Baby Shark’ with Joe B to support the Washington Nationals

The Washington Capitals are currently on their longest road trip of the 2019-20 season, but that hasn’t prevented them from showing their endless support for the Washington Nationals. On Tuesday, the Capitals debuted new nameplates featuring the Nationals logo ahead of their game against the Calgary Flames.

The Capitals’ broadcast team took their support one step further once they touched down in Edmonton on Wednesday. Donning a very fetching shark onesie, complete with a tie, play-by-play announcer Joe Beninati clapped along to “Baby Shark” around Rogers Place to back the Nationals ahead of Game Two of the World Series.

The new dance was debuted in a bid to create some of the same hype that is being felt back in Washington, with the idea coming from Capitals radio announcer John Walton. Joe B’s fellow play-by-play announcer, Craig Laughlin, was also on board.

The broadcast team roamed around the outside of Rogers Place, dancing and clapping near Wayne Gretzky’s statue, and — apparently — freezing their dorsal fins off.

Keep an eye out for further Baby Shark sightings in Edmonton, Caps fans. They’re everywhere.

In summary: THE JOE B SUIT OF THE NIGHT IS IN THE BEST SHAPE OF ITS LIFE.
