Jay Beagle’s first goal of the season was a shorthanded game-winner, obviously

Vancouver Canucks defender and DC legend Jay Beagle has scored his first goal the season in extremely typical Jay Beagle fashion:

Rad stick skills ✅
Shorthanded ✅
Game-winner ✅

With Tyler Myers in the penalty box for hooking, Beagle and the PK went to work. Breaking the puck out of their zone and into the Rangers’, Beagle fenced briefly with Mika Zibanejed before scoring.

The Rangers went on to score two goals, so Beagle’s stood up as the eventual game winner. It’s only Beagle’s second ever goal against Henrik Lundqvist. His first was in December 2017.

Beagle’s season has been rough so far. His ice time is down to an average of 11 minutes a night, and he has had zero points prior to Sunday.
