Three years ago today, Dmitry Orlov launched Matt Duchene into outer space

On the same day we celebrate the first all-female spacewalk, we honor the anniversary of another historic flight: three years ago today, Dmitry Orlov sent Matt Duchene into orbit with an unbelievable hipcheck.

Despite a rough landing in Ottawa on the ice, Duchene was fine, so we can enjoy watching this hard-hit over and over and over and over again.

Ah, hockey.

It’s so beautiful, it should be celebrated as such. According to theknot.com, “The traditional three-year anniversary gift is leather, which is symbolic of the marriage reaching a stage of flexible durability.”

Seems like the perfect present for this particular situation.

Orlov’s hips don’t lie, they just make men fly.
