Physicality is a criminally underrated part of Dmitry Orlov’s game. Early in Tuesday’s game against the Avalanche, we got to see Orlov do his thing.
This hit will make you yell at something.
Matt Duchene raced past the blue line, but Orlov had him read perfectly. As Duchene cut to the middle Orlov undercut him, setting up a terrific submarine hit.
Duchene went flying, completing a flip.
Orlov did something similar at World Champs in May.
We’re looking for more offense and fewer mistakes from Dmitry this season, but if he can give us more lovely, mondo hits like this, that’d be cool too.
