The Washington Capitals lost their second straight game Tuesday night. And practice did not bring much better news.
According to the Washington Post’s Samantha Pell, Capitals defenseman Dmitry Orlov left practice early and did not return.

The Capitals told Pell Orlov left due to a lower-body injury and that the team is being “cautious.”

Head coach Todd Reirden said after practice he expects Orlov to play Thursday night against the Nashville Predators.

Orlov has skated on the second defense pairing with Nick Jensen this season, registering a five-on-five shot attempt percentage of 60.4. Orlov scored on opening night against the St. Louis Blues – his only point in four games so far this season.
