The Washington Capitals have announced their promotional schedule and special theme nights for the 2019-20 season. For the first year ever, the Caps will be hosting “College Series Nights.”
The popular promotion, which has been utilized locally by the Washington Nationals and Baltimore Orioles, includes a one-of-a-kind Capitals hat in a school’s colors (when fans purchase special College Series Night tickets). Participating universities include schools in Virginia and DC. The University of Maryland is the lone MD-State school to be included.

Notable promotions available to all fans with tickets include a schedule magnet on Opening Night (October 3), a scarf on January 29, a reusable tote bag on February 4, and a Player Bobblehead on March 24.

The team will also be celebrating a variety of theme nights, including the annual Capsgiving and Caps Holiday Party. Fans who buy special tickets for Capsgiving will receive a pair of limited-edition Capitals hockey glove oven mitts.

This season, the Capitals will offer an array of special group ticket events. Each special group ticket will receive a unique gift with purchase item or experience specific to the group theme. Special group ticket events include Educators Night on Oct. 14 vs. the Colorado Avalanche, Firefighters Night on Nov. 3 vs. the Calgary Flames, Medical Professionals Night on Nov. 18 vs. the Anaheim Ducks, Scout Day on Nov. 23 vs. the Vancouver Canucks, Youth Hockey Day on Jan. 5 vs. the San Jose Sharks, Pride Night on Jan. 7 vs. the Ottawa Senators, Kids Night on Jan. 11 vs. the New Jersey Devils and Law Enforcement Night on Feb. 25 vs. the Winnipeg Jets. Tickets start at $49. Fans must purchase a special group ticket to receive the item and are limited to one item per ticket. Capitals full season ticket members will be provided an opportunity to purchase any gift with purchase item at a special discounted price, while supplies last. Information about purchasing opportunities will be communicated by the Capitals Membership Services department throughout the season.
In addition, the Capitals announced that they will host College Series Nights. With the purchase of a college series ticket, fans will receive a Capitals hat in their school color. This year’s schedule will feature: James Madison University on Oct. 8 vs. the Dallas Stars, the University of Virginia on Oct. 16 vs. the Toronto Maple Leafs, the University of Maryland on Nov. 11 vs. the Arizona Coyotes, Virginia Tech on Nov. 18 vs. the Anaheim Ducks, Georgetown University on Dec. 9 vs. the Columbus Blue Jackets, George Mason University on Jan. 29 vs. the Nashville Predators, Howard University on Feb. 4 vs the Los Angeles Kings, George Washington University on Feb. 20 vs. the Montreal Canadiens and American University on March 12 vs. the Detroit Red Wings.
