Getting a fresh cut to start off a new school year always seemed like a rite of passage. It was symbolic of a new slate, reminding you that this is your year.

Unfortunately, no matter how good you think your haircut was before the first day, it has absolutely nothing on Leni Oshie‘s bangs. We are so used to seeing mama Lauren Oshie be the one to post snapshots of the kids, but this time it was papa TJ Oshie that documented the day.

Are you kidding me? Are you actually kidding me? The best part is that Leni knows it’s a good cut! Older sister Lyla, of course, got a new crop too for her first day of kindergarten alongside Haley Backstrom.

I want to hear about everyone’s back-to-school haircuts. One time I got a bowl cut to the top of my ears… when I was in the fourth grade. An absolutely unforgivable act from my mother, but luckily I paired it with my zip-up Steve Madden sneakers. I was not the coolest kid on the block, but whatever.
