It’s the offseason, even for shavers.
Friday, Washington Capitals radio announcer John Walton debuted a slick new beard while speaking about Alex Ovechkin’s upcoming trip to China on NHL Network.

“When you get a chance to go to places on this planet that you wouldn’t normally see but do because of this great game, it’s a wonderful opportunity,” Walton said. “I had a chance to go to South Korea for the Olympics and it was transformative for me.”
But the beard, John. What about the beard?
Walton promoted the NHL Network tweet with the text “#fearthebeard.”

Minus the upper body strength and nearly 700 goals. Minnesota machine never breaks. Yeah right. https://t.co/EL4mlTUnXo

But I have some bad news. Walton was asked by one reader if he’d keep rocking the Jason Statham look for the upcoming season, and it appears he will not be doing so.
Dig it. Are you going to keep it for next season?

Unlikely but never say never.

If you ask me, it’s definitely a good look.
