New Jersey Devils’ mascot has biggest hit of offseason after shattering glass at kid’s birthday party

The NHL season may be over, but there are still some big hits being doled out over the offseason… albeit unintentionally.

The New Jersey Devils’ mascot NJ Devil broke a large glass window while faux-running away from kids at a children’s birthday party. The video was shared Sunday night by the Devils.

“You good, @NJDevil00,” the Devils’ Twitter account tweeted.

The mascot tried using the window to stop his momentum. Instead, he had too much OOMPH and BOOM, it shattered. He clearly felt embarrassed and horrified at the same time.

Oh, so much unintentional hilarity here.

The father of the son whose birthday was celebrated responded on Twitter and said, “my son really did have a great bday still.”

I’m not sure NJ Devil can say the same.
