The Washington Capitals completed a trifecta of signings this week when they came to terms with the first three of their selections from the 2019 NHL Draft.
During the week, all three prospects — Connor McMichael, Brett Leason, and Aliaksei Protas — posted staged photos signing their first professional contracts and posted them on their social media accounts.
McMichael and Protas even went the extra mile by throwing on their Capitals jerseys for the pics. You kids can stay.
McMichael, the Capitals’ first-round pick, signed his deal on Friday. On Twitter, he mentioned he was “excited” and thanked “everyone who has supported me alone [so sic] the way! Let's go caps!!🦅” I love this kid already.

Leason, the team’s 20-year-old second round pick who will start next season with the AHL Hershey Bears, wore a dark grey polo shirt before inking his ELC on Thursday. “It’s an amazing feeling to be signing my first NHL contract with the @capitals ! Thank you to everyone who helped me get here!”
Finally, Protas, the team’s third-round pick and Leason’s junior linemate, posted two photos as he put pen to paper on Wednesday. “Proud and happy to sign my first contract with @capitals . This is just the beginning!!!”
