Brett Connolly says goodbye to the Capitals on Twitter: ‘You all will forever have a special place in my heart’

Former Capitals forward Brett Connolly put on a Florida Panthers jersey and met the Cats media for the very first time on Tuesday.

The next day on Twitter, he looked back on his time in Washington and said goodbye to the organization and fans.

“Thank you for everything these past 3 years,” Connolly at’d at the Capitals Twitter account. “A first class organization all the way through. I will always be grateful for giving me the opportunity. Caps fans, for welcoming me and for your unwavering support. Especially to my teammates and their families for the most special memories. Achieving my childhood dream alongside you..DC and you all will forever have a special place in my heart.
