Devante Smith-Pelly has had a memorable week. The Capitals forward celebrated his hometown basketball team, the Toronto Raptors, win an NBA championship on his birthday.
Now, he has a new addition to his family.
Earlier in the week, DSP shared a photo of a puppy on his Instagram Story.

DSP’s mother, Jacqueline Smith-Pelly, shed more light on the doggo. The puppy is a husky mix and DSP named him Stanley.
DSP scored seven goals during the Capitals’ Stanley Cup championship run in 2018, including the game-tying goal in Game Five of the Stanley Cup Final.
The forward brought the Stanley Cup to Toronto for his day with the Cup.
Unlike the championship trophy, Stanley will go with his unrestricted free agent papa wherever he signs this summer, regardless of if it’s in Washington or somewhere else.
RMNB is not associated with the Washington Capitals; Monumental Sports, the NHL, or its properties. Not even a little bit.
