Alex Ovechkin’s wild and crazy summer with the Stanley Cup has been named the best Twitter moment of the 2018-19 season.
The NHL announced the news on Wednesday ahead of their award show in Las Vegas hosted by Kenan Thompson.

The ‘Summer of Ovi’ received 32 percent of the fan vote, narrowly beating out ‘Gritty Breaks The Internet’, which got one point less.

Ovechkin also won the Fan Choice Award for best smile for this pic.

Ovechkin got 46 percent of the vote, destroying the competition (Jeff Carter 29%, Dustin Byfuglien 13%, and Jason Demers 12%).

Ovechkin is also set to receive the Maurice “Rocket” Richard Trophy tonight as well after leading the NHL with 51 goals this season.
