Braden and Brandi Holtby made a lot of peoples’ days at the Capital Pride Parade on Saturday. The hockey power couple gave away t-shirts and hugs in northwest DC.
But there was someone in particular that made Braden and Brandi light up with joy. That fan was Charlie McManus, better known as the Capitals’ T-Shirt Guy.
Let me explain.
In May, the Holtbys took a photo in front of the Capitals’ mural by award-winning, LGBTQ+ activist Lisa Marie. The photo helped show support to the LGBTQ community and helped promote their appearance at the Capital Pride Parade.

McManus then had a brilliant idea. He had the photo printed onto a t-shirt and then visited the mural himself two weeks later, creating an inception-style photo.

Amazing, right?
Along the route of the parade, the Holtbys spotted McManus and of course, they took a picture with the famous fan.

What a moment.
The Holtbys spent several hours along the parade route embracing fans and giving away Capitals rainbow-branded gear.
